Cabinets, counters, layout
Kitchen Remodeling in Bethlehem, From Order Date to First Meal
Cabinets, counters, lighting and layout changes, with orders placed before demolition so the kitchen is out of action for as few weeks as the job allows.
Describe the kitchen you cook in now — (000) 000-0000Lead Times Decide the Calendar
In a kitchen remodel, the slowest part is often waiting. Cabinets can take weeks to arrive, and counters cannot be measured until the base cabinets are set. We order before tear-out so your kitchen is not sitting empty while trucks are on the way.
The other big variable is layout. Keeping the sink and range where they are is faster and less costly than moving them, and the written schedule shows what each choice adds.
Parts of a Kitchen Project
-
Cabinets and surfaces
Cabinet boxes and doors, new or refaced, plus counters, backsplash tile and pulls, sized around the appliances you are keeping or buying so nothing gets reordered.
-
Layout and openings
Removing a wall, adding an island or moving the sink, with structural questions answered before a demolition date is set.
-
Light and power
Pendant, recessed and under-cabinet lighting plus the added circuits a busy kitchen draws on, all included in the remodel scope.
-
Hookups
Water lines, drains and power for the sink, dishwasher, range and refrigerator, rerouted when the sink moves or an island gets a sink of its own.
Kitchen Stages in Order
-
Selections and orders
Cabinets, counters, fixtures and appliances are chosen and ordered first. Demolition is booked for when the cabinets are close to arriving.
-
Demolition and rough-in
Old cabinets and counters are removed, walls open where needed, and wiring, supply lines and drains shift to match the new plan.
-
Install, template, finish
Cabinets go in, counters are templated and installed, then backsplash, lighting, fixtures and paint. You hear from us at each handoff between trades.
Kitchen Remodel Answers
How many weeks will we cook somewhere else?
Usually several weeks, and longer with layout changes. The gap between cabinet installation and counter installation is the stretch people forget, so we put it on the schedule from the start.
Can I set up a temporary kitchen?
Yes, and most families do: a hot plate or slow cooker, the refrigerator moved to another room and a laundry sink for dishes. We plan the setup with you so it is ready the day demolition starts.
